Under the instruction of Mrs. Barbara Grimes. SUA art students take to the streets literally to hone their craft among some of the brightest young artists in the city. Students participate in the Flimp Festival chalk art competition sponsored by the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts. In addition, SUA artists spotlight their work at the Alabama National Fair and the Draw Montgomery competition sponsored by the American Institute of Architects.

In an effort to create a natural transition for our students into college or their career path, we strive to incorporate relevant methodologies and technology into our Fine Arts programming. Exploration on the artistic journey is key to creativity and so we are steadily increasing our skill set as instructors, as well as our inventory of equipment, to make sure the educational experience at SUA provides our students with the competitive edge needed to enter the global market.
